Through numerous donations we have now been able to make 107 Afghan families in and around Nejrab and Kabul proud chicken farmers. With 10 chickens, 5 kg of chicken feed and other accessories, the families can create a source of income by selling eggs or chicken meat. Such a “package” costs 80 euros at purchase, but can support a family in the long term by raising chicks, some of which are given to other families. So far, this project is very well received and gives some hope in what would otherwise be a fairly hopeless situation.

Do not worry – the chickens are fine and there is no problem such as feather picking 😉 Probably only naked neck breeds and apparently even turkeys have been crossed in here.
