When you think of 10-year-old Sobhan, you inevitably ask yourself: how much can a child’s soul endure?

Two years ago, Sobhan’s father, who was employed as a driver, was killed. The murderers’ actions sound like a bad joke and seem even more horrific because of their senselessness. He was driving when a group of men climbed into his car and forced him to drink a can of energy drink. He resisted, but they brutally forced him to continue drinking. Sobhan’s father lost consciousness and his cowardly tormentors fled. He later died in hospital.

Just seven months after this tragedy, Sobhan’s mother Najia collapsed unconscious while looking for work outside her home. She had been suffering from headaches for some time. She was taken to hospital, where it was discovered that she had a very dangerous brain tumor. According to the doctors, she had only three weeks to undergo urgent surgery or she would die.

Several aid organizations collected the money for the surgery, which was then performed. Unfortunately, the after-effects were much more serious than hoped. Najia lost most of her eyesight. Shortly afterwards, another tumor was discovered, this time in her intestine. Despite her illness, Najia continues to struggle through cleaning jobs to ensure her family’s survival and to give her children a better future through education. Besides Sobhan, there are his younger sisters: 9-year-old Yosra and 5-year-old Sara, who both go to school.

Najia used to be a skilled seamstress, but due to her loss of eyesight and the after-effects of brain surgery, she is unfortunately no longer able to work in this profession. We are therefore urgently looking for a sponsor for the family.
