Thanks to a very generous donation from the sponsor of Mahmooda, Fawzia, Shukrana and Shila, their families were able to enjoy the arrival of 10 laying hens for each family. The families are now officially taking part in the chicken project, receiving feed and accessories and professional support in caring for the flock of chickens.

The four women are struggling with different fates and are supported financially by their sponsor so that the families neither go hungry nor have to worry about their health care. With their new feathered roommates, they have also gained a bit of freedom and the opportunity to improve their lives through their own efforts, for example by selling eggs.

This generous gesture has given the Afghan women and their families hope and the warm feeling that they have not been forgotten by the world, that someone is thinking of them and cares about them. That alone is priceless.
