Basbanda’s memories of the devastating earthquake accompany her every step of the way—in the silence of the temporary, cold tent, she hears the echoes of the screams and whimpers of her children, three of whom lost their lives.
As a mother, however, she has no choice but to be strong for her six remaining children and give them the security they need to cope with everyday life under the most difficult conditions. Their livelihood has been destroyed, and the family is in urgent need of support to obtain basic necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter from the cold, and to rebuild their lives.
