Saro lost almost her entire family in the devastating earthquake that shook the village of Mazar Darah in the middle of the night. Her house, once filled with the warm laughter of her loved ones, is now a ruin, its memories buried deep beneath dust and rubble.
Saro now lives with her two remaining grandchildren in cold emergency accommodation and tries to be strong. The two children are too young to understand the full extent of the situation. And so their grandmother is completely alone with her worries about her own existence and, above all, the existence of the little ones. We are urgently looking for a sponsor who can alleviate this existential fear with a monthly contribution and give them some hope again.
