The family of 35-year-old Sharifa is one of the Afghan refugees who lived and worked in Iran for years and ended up back in Afghanistan due to the massive wave of deportations by the Iranian government. Sharifa’s husband had secured the family’s income as a construction worker in Iran. During the construction of a multi-storey building, he had an accident at work and fell from a height. Since then, he has been paraplegic and his health is deteriorating. Sharifa herself has also been unable to walk since she was hit by a car.
The small family with their two sons (8 and 10 years old) found accommodation with relatives in Tarwari, where they were given a room. As they have no financial means themselves, they are at the mercy of their relatives, who have their own problems.
Sharifa wants medical treatment for her husband and the opportunity to support her young sons. She wants to be able to meet the most basic needs of her family on her own without being at the mercy of the very insecure support of her relatives. She would therefore be deeply grateful to a potential sponsor.
